Puppy feeding guide

The ration depends on the puppy’s current weight and its estimated adult weight. For puppies under 4 months old, 3 to 4 meals a day is usually recommended, gradually reduced to 2 meals by around 6 months. Yes. This recipe contains no traces of chicken or turkey. The animal proteins come from salmon, herring, pollock and pork. It is probably the only Acana puppy recipe that completely excludes poultry.

Acana Puppies (standard) is no added grain, made with chicken and turkey. Healthy Grains Meadowland Puppy is with ancient grains, made with salmon and pork, poultry-free. Choose based on your puppy's dietary preferences and sensitivities.

How long should I feed this recipe?

For medium breeds: up to around 12-15 months. For large breeds: up to 15-24 months. After that, transition to an adult formula (Acana Wild Coast or Heritage Adult depending on preferences).

Is salmon safe for a puppy?

Absolutely. Wild salmon is even an excellent source of DHA for a developing brain. Acana uses sustainably caught salmon, processed in its own Canadian facilities.

Why are there sorghum and millet?

These ancient grains are rarely used in industrial foods. They provide unique fiber and minerals, and are very well tolerated. This is typical of the Acana philosophy: using nutritious grains rather than processed wheat or corn.
