The Acana turkey freeze-dried patties are a complete raw food in freeze-dried format. 90% animal-derived ingredients: free-run turkey with ground bone, turkey organ meats (liver, heart, gizzard), plus whole herring and turkey bone broth. Single poultry protein (turkey only), with no chicken, no beef, no lamb, and no pork. Cold freeze-drying preserves raw nutrients. Formulated for all AAFCO life stages, including growth for large-breed dogs. Crumble-friendly patty format, versatile: topper on kibble, complete meal while traveling, or high-value treat. 397 g bag.
❄️ 90% animal, turkey single protein, AAFCO all life stages (including large breed)
Turkey with ground bone, turkey organ meats (liver, heart, gizzard), herring. 4,200 kcal/kg, 105 kcal per patty. Single poultry protein: no other land meat (no chicken, no beef, no lamb, no pork). Suitable for all life stages, even large-breed puppies.
Crumble one patty or half a patty over the usual kibble ration to boost nutritional value, add palatability, and tempt picky dogs. Especially helpful when switching to a premium brand or getting a dog to eat when it turns up its nose at food.
Compact, lightweight, and does not require refrigeration. Perfect for travel, camping, the cabin, or vacations. You can rehydrate slightly with a little warm water before serving to increase hydration, or serve as is with water on the side.
Breaking a patty into small pieces makes highly rewarding treats for dogs during training sessions. Especially useful for working on difficult behaviors (recall, escape prevention, vet handling).
❄️ Why freeze-dried instead of frozen?
Freeze-drying consists of freezing the ingredients and then removing the water under vacuum at very low temperature. The result: all raw nutrients are preserved (enzymes, fragile vitamins, omega-3s), without a freezer or messy handling. The finished product is shelf-stable, lightweight, easy to carry, and keeps for a long time. It's the most convenient way to serve raw food to your dog.
🦃 Why turkey as a single protein?
Turkey is a less common protein than chicken in dog food, which makes it an interesting option for dogs allergic to chicken but who generally tolerate poultry. Its lean meat and rich protein profile make it a very popular meat for dogs. Simple, clean single-protein recipe with no mix of land meats.

Turkey with ground bone, turkey organ meats (liver, heart, gizzard), whole herring, pumpkin, natural flavor, turkey bone broth, organic butternut squash, organic carrots, organic pears, salt, dried chicory root, turmeric, dried kelp, mixed tocopherols (preservative), vitamins (vitamin E supplement, niacin, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, calcium pantothenate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, folic acid, vitamin B12 supplement), minerals (zinc proteinate, copper proteinate), citric acid (preservative), rosemary extract.
1/4 to 1 patty per day depending on the dog's size and kibble ration. Crumble over the usual food. For a "wake-up" effect on a picky dog, start with 1/4 of a patty and increase if needed.
Count approximately 10 patties per 10 kg of dog per day, split into 2 meals. Slightly rehydrate with warm water to increase hydration. Best used for short periods (travel, camping) rather than as an everyday exclusive diet (for cost reasons).
Break a patty into 4 to 8 pieces to make high-value rewards. Very useful for recall and difficult behaviors.
Storage: store at room temperature in the sealed bag. Once opened, use within 4 to 6 weeks for optimal freshness.
Legally, it is an AAFCO complete food formulated for all life stages, including growth for large-breed dogs. But given the price, it's usually used as a kibble topper or as a high-value reward. For travel or when cooking isn't available, it can be used as an emergency complete meal.
Yes. The turkey recipe is single poultry protein: turkey and turkey organ meats only. No trace of chicken, beef, lamb, or pork. The only other animal ingredient is whole herring (fish) for omega-3s.
This recipe is turkey-based, so it is not recommended for a dog with a strict poultry allergy. Take a look at the beef patties instead (single-protein red meat).
Yes, it is one of the 3 recipes (with duck and chicken) formulated for all AAFCO life stages including growth for large-breed dogs. Calcium is controlled to support bone growth.
Optional. You can serve it as is (making sure water is available) or add a little warm water to let it expand before serving. The rehydrated option increases your dog's hydration and is often more appealing as a complete meal.
Acana freeze-dried patties are our premium choice for boosting meals, traveling easily, or rewarding effectively. The turkey recipe is our choice for dogs allergic to chicken who tolerate turkey, or for large-breed puppies.
