🦴 Why a formula specific to large breeds?
Large breed dogs are more prone to joint issues (osteoarthritis, dysplasia) because of their weight. A large breed-specific formula adjusts the calcium to support bone health, reduces energy compared with a generic adult formula (large breeds are often less active per kg than medium or small dogs) and offers large kibble that slows chewing and promotes better digestion.

For an adult dog weighing over 25 kg, the large breed formula is better suited (adjusted calcium, larger kibble).
Orijen Adult Large Breed goes further (85 % animal ingredients, added glucosamine and chondroitin, taurine, L-carnitine). Acana Adult Large Breed offers an excellent recipe at a more affordable price. For a large dog with joint prevention needs or existing sensitivities, Orijen is often worth the investment. For a healthy large dog with no specific issues, Acana is an excellent choice.
