Health Grains vs Grain-Free: what's the difference?
The range Boréal Healthy Grains includes nutritious ancient grains (barley, oats, brown rice) with a low glycemic index. The ranges Original and Vital Grain-Free use only white beans and peas. Both approaches are valid: Healthy Grains is an excellent choice for dogs that tolerate grains well and benefit from the additional fiber. Grain-Free is better suited to dogs with digestive sensitivities to cereals.
Low glycemic index: why is it important?
Thethe barley, oats, and brown rice are grains that are easy to digest with a Lower glycemic index than industrial grains (corn, white rice) or starchy foods (potatoes). This results in a slower release of glucose in the blood, a prolonged satiety, a more stable energy and a better weight control.
