With advanced selective entry technology, our PetSafe microchip cat flap has been designed to allow your pets easy access to the outside world while keeping unwanted cats out of your home.
Using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, this PetSafe microchip cat flap works by reading the unique ID of your cat's microchip without the need for a collar or any accessories. When your cat approaches the cat flap door, the door responds by only allowing your cat entry. The cat flap will remain closed and prevent access by unscheduled cats, as well as wild, pest and stray animals.
The cat flap also features a convenient 4-position manual locking system that allows you to control access for your scheduled cats.
The PetSafe Microchip Cat Flap reads the most common type of microchip implanted in cats, FDX-B (15 digits).
Currently, some older and non-standard fleas may not work with this cat flap.
You will find your cat's microchip number on your microchip registration form from your veterinarian.
Note that chips with 10 digits, lettered characters, and those starting with 977xxxxxxxxxxxx and 98514xxxxxxxxxx are currently not compatible with the cat flap.
