The Nature's Hug kitten food is a kibble fully plant-based, specifically formulated to support a kitten's rapid growth in its first year. The kibble is small and delicate for small jaws. A formula that combines high plant protein (32%), added taurine (essential), 4 probiotic strains, omega-3, and superfoods.
🌱 100% plant-based, formulated for kitten growth
32% plant protein, 18% fat, with added taurine and essential amino acids. A rare option for kittens that do not tolerate common animal proteins. Without meat, without fish, grain-free.
⚠️ Important: cats are strict carnivores
Unlike dogs (omnivores), cats are strict carnivore : its metabolism is optimized for animal proteins, and certain nutrients (taurine, preformed vitamin A, arachidonic acid) are essential for it. A plant-based recipe for cats is not viable only if it rigorously offsets these nutrients. Nature's Hug does this by adding taurine, essential amino acids, and synthetic vitamins. That said, this recipe is better suited to specific cases (confirmed multiple allergies, a considered ethical choice) than for standard feeding. For an at-risk kitten, we strongly recommend discussing it with our team before making the transition.

The serving depends on the kitten's age and current weight. A kitten can generally eat as much as it wants (dry food left available) during the first few months, then switch to regular meals from 6 months onward. For an accurate calculation and growth monitoring, contact our team: we'll help you out. Fresh water should be available at all times.
Yes, provided that the recipe is complete and well-worded and that it rigorously meets the specific needs of carnivorous cats (taurine, vitamin A, arachidonic acid, etc.). Nature's Hug does just that. That said, since it’s a less conventional approach for cats, we recommend a Regular monitoring of the kitten and an exchange with our team to make sure everything goes smoothly.
The cats reach maturity around 12 monthsTypically, this is when the transition to an adult formula takes place. Nature's Hug offers an indoor adult cat formula or an active adult cat formula for the next stage.
It's one of its preferred use cases. Since it does not contain No animal protein, it eliminates the most common allergens (chicken, beef, lamb, fish).
Many kittens take to it well, especially if they are introduced to it from their first months. For a transition from a meat-based diet, allow for a gradual 10–14 day period.
Nature's Hug is a Canadian brand with a unique approach. We mainly recommend it for kittens with confirmed multiple allergies or committed vegetarian households. Hesitating between this recipe and a meat-based option? Contact our team: we'll help you make the right choice for your kitten.
