Why is DHA important for kittens?
The DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an essential marine omega-3 for cognitive and visual development growing kittens. It plays a key role in the formation of brain and retina. Open Farm adds them through salmon oil to ensure a sufficient intake during this critical period.
❤️ Why is taurine essential for cats?
Unlike dogs (omnivores), the Cats are obligate carnivores and cannot synthesize taurine from other amino acids. A deficiency can cause heart problems (cardiomyopathy) and vision issues. Open Farm consistently adds it to all of its cat recipes.

Yes. The nutritional needs of a pregnant or nursing female cat are similar to those of a growing kitten (high protein, DHA, calorie-dense). This recipe is suitable during these periods.
For very young kittens (2-3 months) or after weaning, you can rehydrate the kibble with a little lukewarm water to soften them. Gradually increase the ratio of dry kibble as the kitten grows.
