The Orijen Regional Red food puts red meats at the heart of the recipe: beef, lamb, pork, salmon, plus their livers, kidneys, and tripe according to the WholePrey philosophy. 85% animal ingredients, 38% protein, no trace of chicken or turkey. An excellent option for dogs that don't like poultry or are allergic to it.
🥩 85% red meats and fish, no poultry
Beef (18.5%), lamb (7%), pork (5%), salmon (5%), plus livers, kidneys, and tripe. No chicken, no turkey, no grain. 38% crude protein.
🐄 Why focus on red meats?
The red meats (beef, lamb, pork) are highly bioavailable sources of heme iron, vitamin B12, and zinc. They are also very palatable for most dogs. For dogs that tire of poultry or are sensitive to it, it's an obvious alternative.
Raw beef (18.5%), raw lamb (7%), raw pork (5%), plus their dehydrated versions (5% beef, 5% lamb, 3.5% pork). Multiple red meat sources for a complete amino acid profile.
Raw salmon (5%), dehydrated herring (5%), dehydrated sardines (3.5%): oily fish rich in marine omega-3s (DHA, EPA) for skin, coat, joints, and heart.
Raw beef liver (5%), raw pork liver (5%), raw lamb liver (1.5%), beef kidneys (1.5%), beef tripe (1.5%), lamb kidneys (1%), lamb tripe (1%). Organ meats are a dense source of vitamins, minerals, and bioavailable nutrients.
Red lentils, pinto beans, green lentils, chickpeas, white peas. Plus pumpkin, butternut squash, zucchini, carrots, apples, pears, kale, spinach.

Yes. Regional Red contains no trace of chicken or turkey. For more complex allergies (multiple common proteins), take a look at Tundra (game) or Six Fish instead.
Original focuses on poultry and fish (85%). Regional Red focuses on red meats and fish (85%), with beef, lamb, pork, and salmon, plus livers/kidneys/tripe in full WholePrey form.
Not any more than other proteins for a healthy dog. The quality of the source matters more than the type of meat. If your dog has a sensitive digestive system, we can make the transition more gradually (14 to 21 days).
Red meats are generally very palatable. Combined with Orijen's freeze-dried coating, it's a flavor that appeals to most dogs.
Regional Red is our premium recommendation for dogs allergic to poultry or for those who prefer red meats. Have a question? Our team is here to help.
