The green-lipped mussels (Perna canaliculus) are one of the few natural sources of glucosamine, chondroitin and omega-3 EPA/DHA at the same time. They support joint health, which is especially helpful for small breeds prone to kneecap luxation or to arthritis that appears with age.

Small breeds have a proportionally faster metabolism than a large dog: they burn more energy per pound. An ultra-high-protein food provides the fuel they need in a smaller portion, which avoids filling their small stomach with low-nutrient carbohydrates.
